Healing in the Developing World & Care of the Underserved:
    Medical and Theological Considerations

As part of their coursework, students in Duke University's Global Health 211 traveled to Haiti in March 2009. FHM's David Walmer, also a Duke faculty member, has been leading student teams for 13 years.

They stayed in Leogane and helped sand and paint FHM's new clinic. Later they unloaded free medical supplies that they had carried from the Duke Remedy program.

While in Leogane, the students participated in cultural activities including dancing with the rara bands and learning to drum and paint. They visited local sites, including the market, the nursing school, and a spirit house.
