Misyon Sante Fanmi Ayisyen
Family Health Ministries
Foundation in Haiti
May 19th, 2008, marked the first board meeting to
form Misyon Sante Fanmi Ayisyen - Haiti Family Health Ministries in
Creole.
The purpose of the foundation is to expand the US Family
Health Ministries' ability to serve patients in Haiti.
Board members
include several Haitians, several Americans, and one Haitian American. The
office for Misyon Sante Fanmi Ayisyen is in Leogane, Haiti.
Note: The formation of FHM's NGO in Haiti was severely hampered by the January 2010 earthquake. FHM's priorities changed for the short term to earthquake relief and rebuilding, and Haiti's governmental organizations also had more immediate concerns.
