Welcome

Our mission:  supporting international communities in their efforts to build and sustain healthy families.

Family Health Ministries (FHM) provides education, service and research in the areas of maternal and child health in Haiti and other low resource countries.

Gaining Insights through Research

FHM helps local healthcare providers improve community health by collecting and analyzing local healthcare data.  Current research efforts / collaborations involve:

  • preventing cervical cancer,
  • reducing maternal and neonatal mortality,
  • combating malnutrition and
  • identifying chloroquine-resistant malaria.

Find out more information on the Research Page. FHM also supports an undergraduate research program: (see the Duke Engage Summer 2011 Blog).
